Kart champion looking for sponsors

Kent karting champion Bradley Sargeant is on the lookout for sponsors to help him defend his title for the forthcoming season.

The 24 year old University of Kent student won the 2011 Formula 6 Championship with a lightning end to the season, scoring 352 points our of 360 in the final three rounds and winning the final two rounds at Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset and Buckmore Park in Chatham.

Sargeant had been out of the driving seat for a few years, after winning many races and championships in junior karting, his kart and all of his equipment was stolen. Unable to afford to replace the equipment Bradley’s rapid success was halted and he had to hang up his crash helmet.

In 2011 Bradley entered a competition to win a scholarship for one year’s free drive in the Formula 6 championship. After a few years away it was soon evident that Bradley had lost none of his talent and after impressing the judging panel with his speed, consistency and overtaking ability Bradley won the competition, beating 30 other drivers to win the drive for one season in Formula 6.

A year on and Bradley now finds himself in a similar position as before. As the scholarship competition lasted just one season and is not open to previous winners, he is unable to fund a seasons racing.

If Sargeant can gain the funding, the aim is to compete in the National Championship and pit himself against the manufacturer backed teams:

“If I can raise the funds I truly believe I can challenge for the championship given the opportunity.”

“I understand that in this day and age and especially in the current financial climate companies are not simply going to give me money to put a few stickers on my kart, so I aim to truly give these companies value for money by promoting them as much as possible.

“The local press will be covering all of my races with pictures and reports in 2012 if I can get the funding. I will have my kart in company colours with logos, have the van sign written with my logo and theirs.”

“I aim to promote partners businesses by fully utilising the social media networks that are available such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube as well as my own website www.bas-motorsport.co.uk which will be linked to the other networks.”

“I aim to do this by constantly updating with race reports, photos throughout a day racing or testing and a video blog with onboard camera footage and an introduction to each track, and doing give-aways to gain followers.

“All of these would be uploaded with sponsor’s logos on the pictures and on the videos and with me taking every opportunity to remind people that this would not be possible without my sponsors help.”
